Almost Done!

Hey guys! Ben back with another blog. For this free blog I will be talking about my project. And how we are almost done. Now, I'm not going to lie, we are behind. We were suppose to be done filming B-roll two weeks ago, and we just finished a couple hours ago. Luckily, I'm a pretty fast editor. So I know that we will be able to finished this video by the end of the week if there are no more unexpected problems. I'm already editing, the only thing that we have to do now is record voice overs, film one stand up, and fill in the rest of the B-roll in the span of a couple days. I;m hoping to get it to Mr. M by Thursday. Which gives us 2 or 3 days. I'm not going to jinx anything, so all I'm going to say is I hope things go smoothly. See you guys later! Bye!

challenged

Hey everyone! Ben back with another blog. This week's blog topic is about something that was really challenging that I did. Now if I'm not mistaken, I believe this could be about anything that was a challenge, so for this blog, I will be talking about how getting into the video game, Call of Duty was a big challenge. If you already didn't know, Call of Duty is one of the most popular FPS (First person shooter) games out there today. There have been over a dozen released, usually one very year. Be aware that there will be a lot of gamer talk in this blog, so hopefully you understand some of it.
First, getting into Call of Duty was hard because I was new to it when I first joined in. Before I got my first Xbox 360 back in 2013, I didn't even know what Call of Duty was. Other than Call of Duty World at War on my Play Station 2. So when I first picked up that controller and I went to see what this game was, I sucked. I believe the first COD I played on that thing was Modern Warfare 2. I played the campaign, which was pretty fun, and I didn't even know there was a multiplayer. The first time I played multiplayer was in Black Ops 2. And of course, I sucked, really bad. If you give a person who never held a controller before, and told them to wreck it 360 no scope 420 blaze it, they wouldn't be able to. And that was me.
Second reason was because I didn't have any good guns. Guns are unlocked when you level up. The max level is 55. I was level 1, battling level 55s. There's people using the AN-94, Scorpion EVO, KAP-40, ext. And I was there stuck with all the bad guns, I could barely get a kill. But after days of getting owned, I decided to work with what I got. Some noobs use shotguns to get easy close range kills, others camp at a far range and use a sniper, what I did was run around with an MK-48 with the Target Finder attachment camping in windows waiting for anyone who ran on the street, so I could shred them. And that worked, for a while.
Third, eventually I got good at the game. Like I said, it was a challenge getting started. But with almost everything, with a lot of practice, and a lot more failure than I would like to admit, you'll get good at it. I moved on from my Xbox to my PC, and bought the game again. Again, I was a level 1 battling level 55s. And I knew that they were going to be better then me, and they were, but that didn't stop me. Currently, I am a level 32. Rocking my MTAR, usually with a reflex sight, quick draw, and extendable stock attachment. I'm still bad compared to level 55s. My Kill/Death ratio is 0.83. Which is okay for me. Average K/D ratio for people my level is 0.67. So I think I'm okay.
In conclusion, that who speech might have sounded pointless to a lot of you, but the message that I am trying to spread is that you will be bad at something when you first start, like media. But with weeks, months, maybe even years of practice. You'll get good. I bet you Ali-A (YouTuber) didn't start getting 15.41 K/D ratios when he first picked up COD. You practice, you get better. And I have proof of that. I think...

Not as easy as it looks

Hey guys, Ben back with another blog. For this week's blog topic, I will be writing about something that I thought would be easy to do, then when I actually did it, it turned out to be really hard. Now, what I found really hard to do was radios that I just finished, and I shall tell you why.

The first reason that it was hard was because it was the first one of the year, and I had to teach Dylan how to do it. Even though I've done over six Inside Scoops, I find that every single one has some kind of challenge. This one was that I had to teach Dylan. Even though I tried to teach him as much as I could, I wish I could have taught him more. He wrote his own script, got nearly half the info, and I taught him how to edit. (But he didn't have the chance to actually edit one)

Next reason was because of our project. We get four weeks to do our radios, but in our case, we had a lot going on during the time that we started. We only had two days out of the first week to get started, we used the first day to do transcriptions, and the second day to get info. By the next Monday, we were suppose to be working on scripts already! Doing radios and working on your project at the same time is chaos! We tried to make time for our project and radios, but with the Kokee camp, we couldn't get B-roll, so now we are over a week behind. This last week we didn't have ANY time to work on our project because of radios.

Lastly, what will I do to try to solve my problems by our next radios? Well, I know for a fact that SOMETHING is going to go wrong of get in the way of radios, something always does. So really, the only thing that Dylan and I can do is start a week earlier, maybe two! The only problem that I see with this is that there might not be listed info until we are four weeks out. I guess we'll kind of just have to see. Besides that, maybe Dylan and I can take 'shifts.' One day, I work on radios, he works on the project, another day, I work on the project, he works on radios. You see? It might go slower, but we will be getting double the thing done. I think...

In conclusion, radios are one of the hardest things to do even though they seem easy. I always have people come up to me and say "Hey, media doesn't seem that hard." And I'm just like. "Bro. Stop. You don't even know." I guess that explains it..? Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this blog, and I'll see you guys next week!

Finally Done with radios!

The title says it all. We finally finished our radios. After four weeks of delay, stress, deadlines, and everything in between, we finally finished. Over the last week, we weren't in the best shape. We had only finished one script, we still had to finish the other two, get them approved, record, and edit. All in the span of three days. We were finally able to record one on Thursday after school. And edit it at home. And here is where the fun part comes in. The next day (Our last day) We recorded the last two, and I was able to edit one during the rest of the period, and during lunch. Then, after school, I had to finished editing the last one, and I finally did. And I still had to pack up equipment because we had interviews that weekend. Can you imagine doing nearly a week's worth of work in  day? Well, we did. And that's all I have to say. *drops mic*

Hey guys, Ben back with another free blog. This week's free blog I will be giving you guys another radios update. So, radios are due next week Friday, and I'm not really sure if we are behind, or on schedule. We got all the info, it was a fair amount, I finished Monday's radio script, but I have to get it corrected. And Dylan learned how to do one, and is working on Wednesday's. So we have to record on, like, Wednesday, which gives us two days to get going, and to finish our project script did I mention. So we are pretty busy right now. I won't be getting much free time I can tell, might have to hold on my YouTube channel for the next week or so. So, that's really what's been going on so far. See you guys later. I need sleep! :)

Top 3 Kokee Moments

9/13/2015

Hey guys, so last weekend, as you all know, the whole class went to Kokee! The theme of the trip was "Ohana" (Which means family) So the camp was basically a bonding camp. You get to know everyone, and everyone gets to know you. And it was fun! We did have to do work, practice media stuff, and do a community service project, but when we all got home, I think you can agree that you knew the trip was fun. Anyways, for this blog, I will be talking about my top 3 memorable/best moments during the trip, so lets get into it then!

My first best moment was bonding with all the students in general. Of course, over the span of 3 days, I couldn't get the chance to become the greatest of friends with everyone, but there was definitely some gain in there. A lot of people I just barely knew such as Erik and Destrey, I became a lot closer to and now they are two of my really good friends. I got to interact with everyone else a lot too, with all those mini games, the charades/telephone game, guess that song, the mirror game, ext. I got to get a lot closer to everyone.

Next, Uncle Billy. Now, when I heard when Uncle Billy was coming up, I admit, I was really excited. I met him in 4th grade when my class went up there for a night, and he told us all these ghost stories about the early Hawaiians and such, they were scary as a kid, and I new that those same stories were still scary for some of them. (I wasn't scared. Yeah, I'm brave.) Uncle Billy is a really nice guy if you get on his good side. (Not saying he has a bad side of course)

Last but not least, The night hike. I think their goal was to scare us, but it ended up being really funny for me and the guys. Because of the 'ladies first' rule, all the girls got to go up front and they got the first hand experience, while the guys were stuck in the back like "What's going on?" "Why are the girls screaming to turn our flash lights off? Now we can't see." "Ow! I tripped over a log!" And my personal favorite... "Hey! You hear that? It's one el Chupacobra..." (I think Chupacabra is the Mexican version of Bigfoot or something) Anyways, the hike seemed scary for the people up front, they kept saying they saw eyes of something, I don't know, but it was funny.

In conclusion, I had a great time during the hike. I got to bond with people, have some fun, and get some work in too. Even though we didn't have power half the time. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed my blog. I am looking forwards to a good nights sleep for tomorrow, so anyways, see you guys in my next blog. Bye bye!

Oh did I mention the trip was during my Birthday? :)
