3rd Quarter PSA

Hey guys! Ben back with another blog. This week's blog topic is about our PSA ideas for next quarter. As you all know, there is only 4 days left of school until break, and then after break, we get straight into our PSA project since we don't have much time until it's due. I've been really focusing on our second quarter project and our radios, but I do have a really unique idea for a PSA.
Firstly, my PSA is going to be a texting and driving, or really just getting distracted by your cell phone while driving. I really wanted to do a mini Michinima. If you don't know what that is, a
Machinima is the use of real-time computer graphics engines to create a cinematic production. Most often video games are used to create some kind of computer animation. What I want to do is use the video game Grand Theft Auto 5's in game editor to create a Michinima. "Rockstar Editor" as they call it, is a program in the game that allows you to record something in game by the press of a button, and then find the clip in the editor and you are able to change things like camera angles, audio, filters, and things like that. It gets so detailed people have made mini movies using it that look really cool! If you still don't get it, I'll leave a video below for it.
So the PSA is going to be in first person by the way, anyways, how the PSA is going to go is the character is driving down an empty road, so he pulls out his phone while driving. Then this text message pops up on the screen that the viewer is watching. Then a Twitter notification, then a Facebook update, and as he has his phone out, more messages and notifications fill the screen at a more rapid pace, up until the point where you can't see the road ahead of you, just all the notifications. Suddenly, you hear a loud car horn, all the notifications disappear to reveal a car right in front of you. The car... that you couldn't see... because you were preoccupied by your phone. You try to avoid it, but it's to late, you smash into the car, and the screen goes black.
Now that you got an idea of how it's going to go, why did I choose to do it?  Well, the reason that I want to do this PSA in a video game is it just fits me. My 2 biggest passions are media, and video games. So putting those two together, I feel will not just make a really cool PSA, but I will also enjoy making it more. And with the editor available, as well as in game mods that will greatly help with the scene setup, I think it is more than doable. I just feel that over the years, every PSA that we make now has already been done. This is a different one, something unique and different, and I like it. Now, if you're not sure about a Michinima PSA, I'll leave another video in the bottom of a fake texting and driving PSA done using the Rockstar Editor in GTA 5. It isn't a serious one, it's a comedy. I just found it while searching for one and I thought it was goofy. (Did I just use the word "Goofy"?)
In conclusion, that is my idea for my PSA next quarter that I am looking forward to, but before I can do that, we have to finish our second quarter project that is die at the end of the week. Until then, see you guys later!

Ok, so let me see if I understand this correctly. You want to use the in-game editor in GTA like the video in your blog to create your PSA? I think that's cool! I had no idea you could do something like that! My only concern though is whether or not we have to worry about copyright issues here. We may not be able to enter it in the Olelo contest but if you don't care too much about that, I'm fine with you doing your PSA this way if you think you can pull it off!
