Okay, so here is a question running through my head right now. Am I done? Carter and I had to re-film two scenes to make the video perfect, but Carter couldn't make it he said the day we had to film. I tried to re-film it by myself, but it was worse than the original. I don't really know what else to do. So I guess I am done. I just have to make it as perfect as possible over editing, and cross my fingers that I can get a laugh out of the audience at Family Night. That's my goal, so wish me luck. Oh, and for next blog... See you next year! :)
Hey guys, guess what? This is the last assigned blog for the school year! I will have one more free blogs after this, and after that, blogs are done until next year! I will be keeping this blog for next year, and hopefully, upgrading it a little. More info, improved banner, ext. Anyways, this week's blog is about the unexpected surprises I have had during this school year. I've found out none could be directly faced on Media, since I have experienced all that jazz last year, so lets see what else have surprised me.
Firstly, I did not expect to make so many new friends. Last year at the Family Night, I was the small fish in a big pond. Next year, I'll be the big fish in the big pond. Anyway, I was looking up to the 7th graders, because they knew what they were doing, and when I saw the new students at Family Night, I didn't know any of them that were there. And now, a year later, I know them all, and some, I am good friends with. Secondly, I didn't expect to have so much responsibility thrown at me as a returning student. Last year, I was a new student, and I was getting used to doing minimum work, and getting good grades. Now, as the returning student, it is the complete opposite . I have to do a lot of the work, while my partner does minimum work. I didn't expect to do a lot of work, but having Tristen as a partner, I got a lot more than expected. Lastly, I wasn't expecting to not go on the STN Trip. Last year, I went to Orlando, Florida with the other kids on STN. This year, I ended up not going. At first, it was because my parents were expecting my sister to visit from California to get away from College on vacation. Well, she ended up running out of money sooner than we thought. So she ended up staying at our house a month or so before they left. I missed all the fundraisers, and pretty much all the scheduling. On top of that, my parents didn't want to pay $3,000 on such sort notice. So I still didn't go. Thanks sister. I think I am going next year to Atlanta (I think that's where it is) But I still am not sure. In conclusion, those are three things I didn't expect to happen this year in Media. Hopefully, next year, I am surprise ready, and enjoying my last year. But, you never know what is lying around the corner. Bye! Hey guys. About a week ago, Tristen (My old partner) told me that there is a music video competition happening hosted by my favorite video game company, Rockstar. Rockstar is a company in California that made a couple famous games. Such as Red Dead Redemption and the Grand Theft Auto Series. They are hosting a competition for anyone who can make a music video for the song "Leave" - by Wavves in Grand Theft Auto 5 using the in game editor, which is exclusive for PC users. Like I said last blog, Media has taught my a lot of useful tips and tricks, and I will use them in this contest. Wish me luck by June 8th, when it's due.

Hey everyone. Ben back with another blog. This weeks blog is to reflect on the past year and say what we learned. I am a second year, but I did learn a lot. And I did do a lot, and that helped. But I also didn't do a lot. That didn't help. Anyways, lets get into this blog.
Firstly, I learned not to procrastinate on your projects. I didn't do this, and it helped. A LOT. I started my 4th Quarter Project 3 weeks before 3d quarter ended. And now school is almost over, people are just starting filming, and Carter and I are almost done. One more scene out of 8 scenes. Secondly, make friends. This one is pretty obvious. We are a CKTV Ohana. We are going to be spending nearly everyday together, plus community service, plus fun raisers, plus the STN Trip, ext. This isn't just a class. It's like a job. A job you don't get paid for. And it's fun. So I learned to make as many friends out of the CKTV Ohana as possible. Lastly, I have learned that even though this is just an elective. Well, a huge elective, it also helps me outside of Media. I was making home videos before Media with my camera, and now I laugh at them. They were so bad! Now because of media, I learned so many new things to help me hopefully get a career in the future. I would put a home vid up. But they are THAT embarrassing. Maybe in the future. In conclusion, those are three of the many things that I have learned. New and old. I know that you guys will relate and I hope that you guys are as dedicated to Media as I am. Anyways, that's all for now. Bye! Hey guys, Ben back with another blog. This week's blog, we have to share some of our advice to the new students that are coming back next year. I don't know who any of these kids are, I don't know who my partner will be, but I do have some advice from my 2 years of experience.
First, learn the equipment. I learned a lot from last year about the equipment, so I stuck with the stuff that I knew. Don't do that. We are always getting new equipment. This year alone we got a Ronin, Sony Microphone, two Yeti microphones, and a lot of other stuff. I didn't learn how to use that stuff, and I couldn't use it this year. Do you know how cool it would be to use the Ronin. And I heard that we could be getting a drone next year? I still have a lot to learn. Next, start early on radios. This also applies on Projects, but I mainly run into this problem on radios. We are suppose to start radios a month out, but sometimes, that isn't enough. I always had a problem with radios. The first one, the Microphones recorder wouldn't work for a week. The second radios, I couldn't access the radios on my laptop to edit, so we had to re-record. And the third, we had a confusing SBAC Schedule. So I've learned to start a lot earlier. Because you will ALWAYS have a problem. Lastly, expect to work outside of school. This happens a lot in Media. Whether it's fun raisers, the STN trip, filming, editing, ext. You will be working outside of school. I've had to film at home on multiple occasions. For 4th quarter Carter and I spent from 8am to 5pm filming on Saturday. I've had to edit radios at home because I didn't want to be late, and i've helped out this year with fun raisers, even though I didn't go. In conclusion, that is my advice for the new students out there. Expect to be working hard and having fun. That should be the motto for Media. "Working Hard And Having Fun" Yeah. Anyways, bye! Hey guys, Ben back with another blog. This week's free blog is that Carter and I have filmed one more of our scenes. this scene was the Working With Partners scene. Everything went great, I thought it was really funny. I edited it together, added transitions and music. Fit in like a glove. It might be a while until we film our last scene since Carter is doing radios with Ben Brady. So I will take this time to finalize our projet and get ready to finish it. That's really all. Bye guys!
Hey guys, Ben back with another blog. This week's blog is about if we could change the bell schedule, what would we change? Well, I have been thinking this all year, and I have a few ideas I wish I could execute. So lets get right into it.
Since I can only have three reasons, my first one is that I would take away most of the electives. We currently have 10 class periods, 5 of them are electives including x-block. What if we only had 2? I think that a majority of students would rather have two electives and get out earlier, than have 5 and get out near 3pm. The original reason for x-block was for extra help in common core classes we weren't doing so well in. Now, most students just have it as a 40 minute elective. I think the extra help should be a choice, and we should leave the people who passed HSA out of it. And for normal electives, We don't need 5. I agree that it is a good idea to have electives, but not so many. We should have 2. One is Physical Education, and the other is your choice. Or three at the most. This could change the school ending time from 3pm to 1:10pm. I'll explain the extra 30 minutes taken away next. Okay, next, A team and B team should eat together. I don't know why they changed this, because everything seemed fine last year, and this year on Wednesdays. Like I said before, if we eat together, we could save up to another 30 minutes. In addition, last year I had a lot of friends, now with this change, I have lost half because of this. The only time I get to see them is Recess and after school. That isn't enough for us to stay friends. We also don't get classes together. This won't just be good time wise, it would also be good with people's social life. Lastly, Bus Schedules. I know for a fact, that a lot of kids hate the bus schedules. Some kids have to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes after school, and some have to wake up 1 hour and 30 minutes before the other kids.I have to wake up at 5:30am just to get ready and catch the bus at 6:15am. Then after a long bus ride we get to school 15 minutes before 7am! My dad said when he was in my grade, he woke up at 7am. What happened? I don't see a way for us to fix the after school unless we get more busses. But for the before school, I think since the Lihue kids live so close to the school, they should be the first one's to get here since it would be a short bus ride, and they won't have to wake up a lot earlier than they already do. Maybe 6:30am or 6:40am. They could make it here by 6:45am. Since kids like me who live a while away, we should wake up later since we have a longer bus ride. We could wake up at the same time the Lihue kids do, and we could make it to school the same time the Lihue kids make it here currently. In conclusion, that is what I think should be changed in this school. I believe some kids might disagree and some might agree, but this is what I feel best. I look forward to reading your blogs to see what I could have missed. Bye! Finally! As you could tell be the title, Tristen and I have finished our last radios. I have sent all the radios to Mr. M, and I put them all on my "Inside Scoop" page. If you want to listen to them. It was hard to do, and I didn't get much done with my project because of it, but now that is is done. I can put all of my attention onto my 4th Quarter Project. The only problem is that now I am done with radios, Carter just started them. So hopefully, they finish faster then we did so we can hop on our project and finish it up. we are almost done with it. Can you believe that? Anyways, that's all I have for now. Bye!
Hey guys, as you know, the school year is almost over. Which means that Family Night is just around the corner. If you don't know, Family night is where all of the media kids from the current year, show one of their videos that they made from that year to all the other students and their parents. I went last year and it's really fun because you get to watch videos and see the new students that will be here next year. Not to mention the food! Anyways, this week's blog is about what video we will be showing at Family Night. I want to show my 4th Quarter Project. I know that my parter for 4th Quarter also wants to show it, so we have to negotiate.
My first reason is because 4th Quarter is our last project. It is kind of like our final project for the year. We display how good we are and what we learned. It also shows the new kids what they might be making. Last year, I showed my 4th quarter project. And everyone that was here last year will be here this year. I know that this year's project will be a lot better than last year's, and I want to show everyone how much I learned from this class and how much better I got. My second reason is because I think this is going to be the best video that I have ever made. (With the help of Carter) No one wants to show a bad video. Because family night shows how much you learned as I said before. So I want to show my best work. My PSA is to short, and my other two projects just aren't as good as I hope this one is. My last reason is because the video is funny. If I wanted to show all of those people a video, I want them to enjoy it. I am not so sure the parents will get the humor in this video, but I believe the kids will. and that's all I need. I mean, making a short video is hard. And nothing will feel better than someone appreciating what you worked on. If I can get a couple chuckles out of some people, then the struggle of making this video will be worth it. In conclusion, that is why I want to show my 4th Quarter project. I am really looking forward to see what you guys present at it when it rolls around. Until then, we will all be plenty busy working on our 4th quarter project. See you guys later, Bye! Hey guys, this week's free blog is going to be about radios. Now, I said before that I wanted to finish radio scripts by Wednesday. We didn't meet that deadline. I finished my second script on Thursday, and Tristen finished his radio script on Friday. We sent them all to Mr. M because he was in Maui. Or as I heard. Anyways. I just want to record on Tuesday, and edit it at home. I just hope that Tristen has listened to me, and does the same. My project is cruising, but my radios aint.
